Taylor Swift Wiki

folklore is Taylor Swift's eight studio album. It was announced on July 23, 2020 and released a day later on July 24, 2020. It includes 16 tracks on the standard edition and 17 tracks on the deluxe edition.

Taylor said the following about the album: “folklore is wistful and full of escapism. Sad, beautiful, tragic. Like a photo album full of imagery, and all the stories behind that imagery.”[1]

The album was announced on July 23, 2020 (a day before release), along with the track list. Taylor had been secretly working on it in secret during quarantine, not even her friends knew. About the release date, Taylor stated the following: "Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed."[2]

  • The next album, evermore, is folklore's sister album.
  • Taylor started writing in April 2020.[1]
